1-1. Scope. The scope of this manual is described in the following subparagraphs.
a. Type of Manual. This manual provides operator and unit maintenance instructions for Filter/Separator,
Liquid Fuel, Frame Mounted, 600 GPM Capacity NSN 4330-00-522-1850 model GFS-30-V-600 (figure 1-1).
This manual also provides a Repair Parts and Special Tools List located at Appendix F.
b. Equipment Name. 600 GPM Capacity Frame Mounted Liquid Fuel Filter/Separator, hereinafter, referred
to as the filter/separator.
c. Purpose of Equipment. The filter/separator is a static device which is installed in a fuel system. The
filter/separator is capable of removing entrapped water and solid contaminants from fuel.
1-2. Maintenance Forms, Records and Reports.
a. Reports of Maintenance and Unsatisfactory Equipment. Department of the Army forms and procedures
used for equipment maintenance will be those prescribed by DA Pam 738-750, as contained in The Army
Maintenance Management System.
b. Reporting of Item and Packaging Discrepancies. Fill out and forward SF 364 (Report of Discrepancy
(ROD)) as prescribed in AR 735-11 -2.
