Filter-Separator.

a. General. The 350 GPM (gallons per
ute) optimum performance filter-separator

undissolved water and solid contaminants from
military fuels.
The filter-separator (fig. 1-1
and 1-2) has a water level indicator (sight gage),
a manual water drain valve, and a differential
pressure indicator.
b. Filtration, Coalescence, and Separation.
The first stage consists of fluid pressure filter
elements which perform a dual function.

screen-lined canisters (18 canisters per unit).
The fuel flows through the teflon coated screen
where the water droplets are stopped and pulled
downward by gravity to the sump for subse-
quent draining. Clean fuel then flows into the top
of the outlet tube and out the outlet connection
at bottom rear of the unit.
